Wendy Lee Fassbender, age 54, of Lodi, WI passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015, while scuba diving at Lake Wazee, outside Black River Falls in Jackson County Wisconsin. She was born in Marquette, Michigan, the daughter of Paul and Janet Fassbender. Wendy graduated with honors from Marquette University in Milwaukee and then earned her law degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. An employee of the State of Wisconsin for the past 20 years, she worked in DER, DOC and was currently working in DOA supporting the State Email System. In addition to her primary employment, together with Cheryl Noble, she operated a thriving home business which has allowed them to travel the world – an unbelievable dream come true. Wendy also worked with the Volunteer Lawyers of Madison, primarily in Columbia County, donating her services to help those in need. She loved gardening, flowers, and everything purple! Wendy loved to experience life through excitement and change. She enjoyed fast cars, motorcycles, Jet Skis, ATVs, zip lines, scuba diving, snow skiing, and para sailing. If it went fast or high Wendy did it. Anyone who ever knew Wendy, never saw her without her hands moving. Crocheting or knitting, she made everything from tablecloths, cancer shrugs, doilies, afghans, and scarves for the kid next door. Wendy left behind so many people who loved her, and so many friends. No matter how busy she was, she would always take time to stop, listen and offer her help. Survivors include; her parents, Paul & Janet Fassbender of Marquette, MI and Poynette, WI. A son, Christopher, his son David Fassbender-Fogle of Stoughton, WI. Three sisters; Amy Rodgers (Patrick), and their daughter Emma, of Vienna, WV, Kelly MacVittie (Chris Leyda) of Stoughton, WI, and Kay Fassbender of Poynette, WI.
